PATHANAMTHITTA: The accused in the Thiruvalla spa gangrape case have reportedly left the state. The first accused Subin Alexander, popularly known as "Marana Subin", and co-accused Berlin Das have been arrested so far. Four others are absconding. The victim had revealed that the rape was committed with the connivance of a colleague who was in the spa at the time of the incident. The investigation will continue against her and her malefriend. The spa owner had also alleged that the attack was carried out based on a quotation given by his business rivals and that some of his employees had been involved in it. If so, more people will be included in the list of accused.

Meanwhile, SP R Anand said that a special team will investigate the rape case. If the police have failed in the incident, action will be taken and the allegations of the spa owner will be investigated, the police said. The police stated that neither the woman nor the spa owner filed a complaint regarding the incident that occurred on the 1st, and that two people were arrested based on confidential information. The police also hid the information about the rape. The incident came to light after the video footage of the gang abusing the girl went viral. District Police Chief R Anand said that there are allegations that the police are also collecting money from the spa.

"Action has been taken against the accused policeman. A departmental inquiry will be conducted. It is being checked whether more people have collected money. There was no negligence in the spa incident. The statements of the woman and the spa owner were recorded as soon as the confidential information was received. Two people were arrested. A search is underway for the four accused. Subin will be remanded in preventive detention in the Kaapa case. Further investigation will be conducted focusing on the spa. Thiruvalla DySP T.R. Jiju is in charge of the investigation. The woman's statement that her colleague was also involved in the incident will be taken seriously," he said.
