India crushes Namibia by 93 runs, Pakistan next

NEW DELHI: India won their second consecutive match in the T20 World Cup. Team Blue also topped their group with a 93-run win over Namibia. Chasing a target of 210, Namibia were bowled out for 116 in 18.1 overs. Namibia collapsed in their batting after making a start that stunned India. At one point, they were 67 for one in 7 overs. India's next match is against Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday.

Chasing a huge target set by India, Namibian opener Louren Steenkamp was the top scorer with 29 (20). Jan Frylinck 22 (15), Nicol Loftie-Eaton 13 (13), captain Gerhard Erasmus 18 (11) and wicketkeeper Zane Green 11 (19) were the only players to reach double figures. Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets for India. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel took two wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube took one wicket each.

Batting first, India scored 209 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. India posted a good total thanks to the half-centuries of Ishan Kishan (61(24)) and Hardik Pandya (52(28). Tilak Verma (25(21), Shivam Dube (23(16)) and Sanju Samson (22(8)) also put in a good performance with the bat. Namibian skipper Gerhard Erasmus took four wickets to keep India at 209.
