Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra (2025), starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen Gafoor, is a record-breaking Malayalam superhero film that became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. It is the first Malayalam film to cross the ₹300 crore mark globally, with reports confirming a worldwide gross of over ₹300.02 crore within 45 days. The action film with a superhero and mythological theme also spawned a franchise. While the first part was made on a budget of ₹30 crore, the scale will be bigger for the upcoming second chapter. Series creator Dominic Arun confirmed that the Lokah universe will have at least four films, and the upcoming chapters will feature an even bigger star cast.

Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan are confirmed to return for Lokah: Chapter 2, reprising their mysterious, folklore-inspired characters, Michael (a Chathan/goblin) and Charlie (an Odiyan), introduced in the first part. The film is currently in the pre-production phase, with script development underway. Reports indicate that filming is expected to begin around September 2026, targeting a potential release during Onam 2027.

Sharing some interesting information about the second part of Lokah, Kalyani confirmed the return of her character, Chandra. She also revealed that the shooting will take place in September this year. "The script work is currently in progress. The shooting is expected to start in September 2026. Yes, I am a part of the film, so just wait for it," said Kalyani.
