Murder for theft or revenge for killing lover? Actress Vishnupriya's father murdered

CHENNAI: Tamil actress Vishnupriya's father Suryanarayanan was found dead. Suryanarayanan's body was found in his private bungalow in Kodaikanal. It is said that rooms here were being rented out to tourists. Police suspect that Suryanarayanan was murdered by someone who stayed in the bungalow. Five tourists had come to stay at Suryanarayanan's bungalow. The police have expanded their investigation to find the suspects.

The body was reportedly discovered seated on a chair near the swimming pool area, with hands tied and adhesive tape placed over mouth. The initial conclusion is that Suryanarayanan was strangled to death by suffocation with the tape wrapped around his mouth and nose. Gold ornaments, money, and hard disk of the CCTV cameras were also stolen from the bungalow.

Suryanarayanan was arrested in 2018 in connection with the murder of Vishnupriya's lover Prabhakaran. The district police chief said that they will also investigate whether Suryanarayanan's death is a revenge for Prabhakaran's murder.

Vishnupriya gained attention for her performance in the 2005 film Maayavi starring Surya. Although Maayavi was a flop, all the songs were hits. The song 'Kadavul Thantha Azhagiya' is especially popular. The song stars Vishnu Priya playing a differently-abled persons role. It is noteworthy that she also became famous all over Tamil Nadu through that song.
