Rain chances return in Kerala today; warning issued to districts, including Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department announced that all districts in the state will receive rain today as a relief from the intense heat. All districts are expected to receive light to moderate rain. There is a possibility of rain in all districts tomorrow as well.

The IMD informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in the Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts over the next three hours. There is no ban on fishing along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts today. However, strong winds and bad weather are likely to prevail over the southeast Bay of Bengal, the adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, the equatorial Indian Ocean, and the south Andaman Sea, with speeds of 35 to 45 kmph and occasionally up to 55 kmph. The Meteorological Department warned that fishing is not advisable in these areas.
