KARACHI: Malayalis are stranded at the Karachi airport in Pakistan after the suspension of flight services due to the joint US-Israeli strike on Iran. It is reported that eight Indian citizens, including three Malayalis, are stranded in Karachi. Palakkad Kodumbu native Krishna Das Nagalur, his wife Rashmi Menon and daughter Smriti Menon (3) are stranded. They were passengers of an Air Arabia flight that was going from the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, to Kuwait via Sharjah.

Following the clash, the flight was diverted and made an emergency landing at Karachi International Airport. The passengers contacted Norka Roots through a Loka Kerala Sabha member from Kuwait. Later, the government announced that it was coordinating the steps to bring them to India in collaboration with the Union Ministry of External Affairs. The state government said in a press release that the Ministry of External Affairs is examining the possibility of bringing them to India via Colombo.
