KOCHI: The family of the victim in the Angamaly car accident came out harshly against the police for not yet arresting the culprit whose reckless driving cost a life. The family of victim Jasliya alleged in a press conference that the police have not arrested the accused even after six days of the accident. Jasliya's father, Johnson, questioned the delay in arresting the culprit despite the advancement in technology.

"The accused is a doctor. It was learned that the accused belonged to a wealthy family." Jasliya's brother Jasin said that the police could have easily arrested the culprit, but they chose not to.

“Will a doctor ever try to escape after causing such an accident?” Jasliya's mother, Lima, said that her daughter would have been saved if the vehicle had stopped to take her to the hospital. The family demanded justice for the victim.

Johnson said that the police have not contacted them yet, even after the controversy. The family asked whether it was only money that mattered and not human lives.

“How can we confirm now whether the driver was drunk? Why the delay in arrest despite identifying the culprit?” The family also asked why the police did not even agree to take a photo of the crashed vehicle.
