Police constable arrested after woman commits suicide over marriage promise betrayal

AGRA: A police constable has been arrested in connection with the incident where a woman committed suicide after accusing him of breaking his promise to marry her. The arrested person is Uttar Pradesh native J B Gautham. He has been arrested on charges of abetment to suicide. The woman committed suicide after accusing him of mentally harassing her and violating his marriage promise.

According to the woman's family, although she had married another person six years ago, that marriage lasted only two years. About four years ago, she met Gautham during an event held in Shamsabad. Later, they developed a romantic relationship and started living together. It is alleged that Gautham started living with her after promising to marry her.

However, later, when he backed out of the marriage, the woman went to her sister's house in Agra and committed suicide. Her family has also alleged that she faced harassment from Gautham’s family members.
