
THRISSUR: The UDF had announced support for G Sudhakaran in Ambalapuzha without fielding a candidate here. However, they had also informed that they would not support C C Mukundan MLA, who was expelled from the CPI. Now, there are hints that the BJP is planning to field Mukundan in Nattika. The BJP is planning to field him after Mukundan decided to be in the fray even if the UDF does not support him. However, he informed that he will consider accepting BJP's support.
With the CPM and Congress not supporting Mukundan, there are reports that the Aam Aadmi Party is also in the field for him. It is reported that party leaders have held discussions with Mukundan. Mukundan had earlier said that he would not seek BJP's support. However, it remains to be seen whether he will accept support in the changed circumstances.
The Congress, which had announced that it would not support Mukundan in Nattika, has assured that he will be considered if comes to power after the elections. They believe that if Mukundan gets the votes of the LDF, it will be beneficial for them. Mukundan is the one who won by the largest margin since the formation of the constituency. In the last election, he defeated advocate Sunil Laloor of the Congress by 28431 votes.
