Woman stabbed to death by neighbour; accused arrested

THRISSUR: In a horrific incident, a 46-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her neighbour in Christopher Nagar on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Soumya (46), daughter of Francis of Christopher Nagar. The accused, Appadan Thomas, a native of the same area, has been arrested by the Ollur Police.

According to police, the incident took place around 6 p.m. on a road near the victim’s house. The accused allegedly attacked Soumya with a knife. Although Soumya was rushed to a private hospital in Thrissur, doctors declared her dead.

After the attack, the accused tried to escape but fell into a well while running away. Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene and rescued him from the well. He was then taken into police custody.

Soumya is survived by her children, Agna and Aaron.
