'Kuttanad a commodity for rich to fulfil MLA ambitions'; Congress leader Saji Joseph turns against leadership

ALAPPUZHA: Congress leader Saji Joseph came forward to strongly criticise the UDF candidate selection for Kuttanad. Saji Joseph alleged that the Congress sold the Kuttanad seat as a payment seat. He blamed the leadership for turning Kuttanad into a consumer product to make the rich people's desire to become MLAs a reality. It is expected that Saji Joseph will contest as a Congress rebel in Kuttanad.

“We, the people of Kuttanad, are living amidst a crisis. We believed that the political leadership could bring Kuttanad back from its slump. But this time too, they have sold Kuttanad to the greed of moneybags. Through the UDF's candidate announcement, it is clear that Kuttanad has been sacrificed to satiate the greed of rich business folks who are not even residents. The LDF, on the other hand, is once again testing the MLA, a capitalist who does not live in Kuttanad and does not know Kuttanad.

It is essential to find a political solution to the problems of Kuttanad. The people of Kuttanad will never forgive the UDF-LDF leadership, which has turned Kuttanad into a mere commodity for the rich to fulfil their MLA ambitions as a payment seat. The farmers, agricultural workers and the starving people of Kuttanad are struggling to make ends meet. As a Kuttanad resident, I will definitely oppose the attempt to make the majority of the Kuttanad natives look like fools, to politically eliminate their rights, and to dismiss the most important issues of life raised by them with mere contempt. This is a matter of the survival of the country. “
