NEW DELHI: Oil marketing companies on Friday increased the price of premium petrol by Rs 2 to Rs 2.35 per litre as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East affect global fuel markets. The revised rates will come into effect from today. However, the price of normal petrol remains unchanged.
The US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28th significantly affected global oil supplies. It then nearly closed the Strait of Hormuz, a major waterway that carries a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas.
