NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will consider the plea seeking to quash the anticipatory bail granted to Rahul Mamkootathil MLA in the rape case on Wednesday. Some documents related to the case were submitted to the Supreme Court Registrar in a sealed cover by the complainant's lawyer the other day.
The Supreme Court then listed the plea in the list of cases to be considered on Wednesday. However, it is not clear what documents are in the sealed cover. The plea is being considered by a bench comprising Justices M M Sundaresh and N K Singh.
It is believed that the complainant has levelled serious allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil in the plea seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail. The plea alleged that ten including a minor, have been subjected to rape. The first complainant has filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of Rahul’s anticipatory bail. The complainant approached the Supreme Court earlier this month.
The plea also seeks cancellation of bail as the case is under investigation and the allegations against the complainant are inappropriate and illegal. The complainant said that she was made to abort under threat and that her life is in danger. The plea alleged that the high court conducted a mini-trial of the case while considering the bail plea, which is illegal.
