THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A serious academic scandal has unfolded at the University of Kerala, where Dr. Darwin, the Head of the Department of Linguistics, is accused of "smuggling" 18 PhD and MPhil theses to a private institution. These documents, which represent decades of rigorous research into rare tribal languages, were allegedly removed from the library’s restricted reference section in direct violation of university protocols.

Despite firm objections from library staff, the Department Head reportedly leveraged his authority to have all 18 volumes issued in his name on a single day. The Vice Chancellor has received a formal complaint regarding this incident, highlighting the potential loss of irreplaceable linguistic data and the blatant misuse of official position to benefit a private entity.
