KOLLAM: Although the last date for filing nominations for the assembly elections is today, most of the candidates had already started their campaigning. This time, each party and candidate are trying out new methods different from the previous times. Many have gone viral by releasing AI videos. However, BJP candidate from Kollam, Dr N Prathap Kumar, is completely different from all this.

Amidst his busy schedule, Dr Prathap Kumar rushed to the hospital to save the life of a 70-year-old man, who is in a critical condition. He performed a complex surgery on the elderly man suffering from a serious heart issue. The information was released along with pictures on the Facebook page BJP Keralam. The Facebook post said Dr Prathap Kumar is a perfect example of public service. The post also says that the BJP candidate assures every citizen of Kollam of the same love and care that he shows in his work.

Dr Prathap Kumar is a senior interventional cardiologist at Meditrina Hospital in Kollam. He put aside his campaign and came to the hospital to perform a complex angioplasty on the 70-year-old man. The surgery was also telecast live at the ‘India Live 2026’ conference of cardiologists being held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. The live programme was attended by over 3,500 cardiologists from India and SAARC countries. Dr Prathap Kumar then went for campaigning after performing three more surgeries.
