Malayalam Cinema’s ace Mammootty made his entry to cinema through K.S. Sethumadhavan directorial ‘Anubhavangal Palichakal’ released in 1971. He has breathed life to many roles in a career spanning 48 years. The actor fondly called ‘Megastar’ has also portrayed his pan Indian capability through other language movies. Considering his contributions, Vogue India has honoured him by including him in the ‘Biggest Icons of South Indian Film Industry’ list.
Vogue India has also added the dialogue of Soubin Shahir’s character in the movie ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’ praising the actor’s versatility under Mammootty’s photo. In the list, there are other eminent film personalities from the south Indian cinema. Sobhana, Ramya Krishnan, Vijayashanthi, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna is also in the list. However, the other Big M of the Malayalam Cinema, Mohanlal, is not included in the list.
