'Won't consume pork, BJP created division among people'; Shiyas Kareem responds to beef controversy

Actor Shiyas Kareem responded to the cyber-attack on him following the beef controversy with Bigg Boss winner Anumol. Shiyas tried to force-feed beef to Anumol at an event, and when she refused, he asked if she had joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Though the interaction was on a lighter note, the issue sparked a controversy, leading to Shiyas coming under cyber-attack.

Shiyas Kareem:

“It is BJP that created division among people over beef. It is common among friends in Perumbavoor to take jibes at others over beef if they refuse to consume it. My interaction with Anumol was friendly and fun.

Many are asking me to prove my secularism by consuming pork. Anybody would salivate over a freshly cooked, tender pork. However, as the holy Quran has prohibited pork consumption, I can’t go ahead with it.

And for people who are bringing up the former legal case I was involved in, the case was rejected by the court. If the woman goes against me again, I have no issues. Jail is meant for real men.”
