ALAPPUZHA: A hotel owner was arrested after a Vishu poster of kuzhimanthi shop stoked a controversy. The incident happened in Cherthala. The arrested is Arshad, owner of Mehr Manthi shop in Cherthala. The controversy arose because the Vishu poster depicted kuzhimanthi placed in front of Lord Krishna, which led to allegations of hurting religious sentiments. Following this, the police registered a case.

However, the hotel owner said that the poster was designed by an outside person without his knowledge. He also clarified that the controversial poster was not shared on social media and that an alternative poster was made instead. Arshad expressed regret over the incident.
