NEYYATTINKARA: Police gave more clarity on the murder of Vlathankara native Alma by her husband, Vishnu. Police said that Vishnu had suspicions about Alma having another affair and was despondent over them not having children. To not let anyone know about the murder, Vishnu chose Sunday morning when the whole neighbourhood went to attend mass at the nearby church.

After the murder, Vishnu surrendered at the police station, confessing that he had killed his wife. Alma had quite a fan base on her social media page, which Vishnu did not appreciate. The couple tried to settle matters several times, but to no avail. One week before the murder, Vishnu bought a machete and kept it hidden in the house. As the murder took place during Sunday mass time, Alma’s cries for help went in vain.

After hacking at her neck, Vishnu ensured Alma's death by suffocating her with a pillow. Vishnu is a faculty member at a PSC tuition centre. Alma was a content creator on social media with over 10000 followers. The couple married nine years ago after dating. Vishnu will soon be taken into custody by Parassala police for questioning.
