Man, woman found hanging near Vellanikkalpara in Venjarammoodu

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man and a woman have been found hanging near Vellanikkalpara in Venjarammoodu. The deceased have been identified as Shefin (35), a native of Vellanad, and Aswathy (32). The bodies were found with their hands tied together. They were discovered in a rubber plantation at the foothills of Vellanikkalpara, a place usually visited by tourists.

Visitors who came to the area noticed the bodies hanging from a tree and informed the police. The incident occurred in the Nethajipuram ward under the limits of Pothencode.

Earlier, a missing persons complaint had been registered at the Aryanad Police Station regarding the two individuals, prompting an ongoing search

operation. Police from Pothencode reached the spot and conducted inquest proceedings. A detailed investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact circumstances and cause of death.
