THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Human Rights Commission registers a case on the incident where four Maoists were killed in an encounter with the police force’s ‘Thunderbolt’. A notice was sent to the police chief. The commission has demanded a report after investigating the situation why the Maoists were killed. Only a time period of two weeks is allowed to prepare the report. The case will be considered in the next month’s sitting in Wayanad’s Kalppetta.

In the encounter, four were killed including CPI (ML) central committee member and the head of Bhavani Dalam-Manivasakam. One among them was a woman. Their dead bodies have been taken to Thrissur Medical College for postmortem.

The encounter took place in a forest area in Kozhikkallu near Melemanjakandi. As there was a delay in an inquest the body of the deceased wasn’t shifted from the forest even on Tuesday morning.
