Three persons arrested for stealing fans at COVID-19 camp in Ernakulam; reason for theft is surprising

KOCHI: Police arrested three persons for stealing fans from COVID camp in Ernakulam. Fans were stolen from a COVID camp at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School in Ernakulam South. The arrested has been identified as Sudheesh, son of Unnikrishnan Nair of Cheruthana Lakshmi Nivas in Alappuzha, Maju Mohammadali, son of Thajuddeen of Maju Manzil in Kollam Punalur, and Jithesh, son of Sreedharan of Chakkarapparambu Kaniyappilli House in Ernakulam.

On questioning, the accused said the stolen fans were sold at a scrap shop. The accused said they stole the fans as they didn't have money to buy beedi.

The missing fans were first noted by the school's PTA president Shibu. The school's principal immediately informed the police.
