THRISSUR: ICMR’s random test has started in Thrissur to know if there is community transmission of COVID-19 in the state. 400 samples of forty samples each will be collected from ten areas. It will be later checked at the lab in Chennai. The samples will be examined jointly by ICMR officials and the health department. The samples are collected from people who have no symptoms or illness. The presence of antibody is tested in their blood. The candidates selected will be asymptomatic for the virus.

A 20-member team will conduct the tests in Palakkad, Thrissur and Ernakulam districts. This is with the help of the health department and primary health centres. A report by the team entrusted by ICMR will submit the report in five days.
