THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Bev Q’, the app developed in the state to sell liquor online will continue. A decision was taken at the high level meet convened by Excise Minister T P Ramakrishnan. The government decided not to shelve the app even though token distribution for the sale failed.

The government decided to go forward with the app considering the opinion of IT experts that it can be functional after the minor flaws are solved. The minister directed at the meet to solve the issues related to the app by this evening.

IT Secretary M Sivashankar and Startup Mission CEO Saji Gopinath has been instructed to directly examine the functioning of the app. Faircode Technologies Limited in Kochi are the developers of the application.

With the stalling of the app for the second consecutive day, private bars distributed liquor without a token in many places. Many are still not getting the app. Faircode after deleting all the details related to the booking from their Facebook page had closed their office without giving an explanation.
