Three prisoners jump Kakkanad Women's jail but get caught within five minutes

KOCHI: Three prisoners who jumped Kakkadanad women's jail was caught within five minutes. The prisoners are Razeena, Sheebha and Indu, who are accused in theft case. They were living in the Covid isolation ward inside the jail. They are natives of Kottayam and Ernakulam.

The incident happened when they were taken out to at seven in the morning on Thursday to dispose of the waste generated inside the prison. Once they were outside the jail, they pushed aside the jail staff and took to their heels. The jail staff chased and brought them back to jail within five minutes.

Following the incident, the police have beefed up the security in the prison.
