KANNUR: A Gulf-returnee and Kannur Muzhuppilangadi native who was under observation for Covid died on Saturday. However, the cause of death was not Covid but brain haemorrhage, according to the doctors who treated him.
He had returned from Gulf on May 24 and was under observation. The funeral will be conducted after swab test result is out. Meanwhile, the government has taken high precautions in all districts as the number of Covid cases in the State are rising.
Fearing community transmission, strict restrictions has been imposed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
An inspection was done by Corporation secretary and a team at Ernakulam Champakkara market early morning on Saturday. The inspection was done on a tip off that merchants were doing business without following social distancing norms. The officers warned of complete closure of the market if the merchants breached Covid protocol.
