KOCHI: Minister for Agriculture VS Sunil Kumar on Monday said that a triple lockdown is likely to be imposed in Kochi following a recent surge in the number of coronavirus cases in the region. The minister is in charge of Ernakulam district to contain the spread of Covid-19.
According to the minister, a high alert has been maintained at several regions in the district including coastal areas for the last few days. However, the authorities are considering to impose a triple lockdown as there has been an increase in COVID cases through local transmission within the city, the minister said. Meanwhile, a triple lockdown has been imposed in Thiruvananthapuram city from Monday onwards.
