COVID-19: Kerala records 2655 cases on Saturday, 2433 cases through contact, 2111 recoveries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state registered 2655 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among the new cases, 2433 persons developed the disease through contact. 61 health workers tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours.

2111 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Saturday.

Malappuram- 249
Kozhikode- 244
Kannur- 222
Ernakulam- 186
Kollam- 170
Thrissur- 169
Pathanamthitta- 148
Alappuzha- 131
Kottayam- 119
Palakkad- 100
Idukki- 31
Wayanad- 20

The state reported 11 COVID deaths on Saturday, the CM said.

At least 40,162 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

14 new places were declared as hotspots today while 22 places were exempted. At present, there are 551 hotspots in Kerala.
