412 persons test positive in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday; 291 recoveries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 412 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Thiruvananthapuram district on Sunday thereby taking the COVID tally of the district to 21, 291. Among the newly infected persons, 395 contracted the disease through contact. Meanwhile, 291 patients tested negative for the virus on Sunday.

The number of active cases in the capital district is 5417. So far, 15,998 persons in the district have recovered from the disease. The district also confirmed 8 deaths due to COVID on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Mudavanmugal native Krishnan (69), Thycaud native Leela (75), Kakkamoola native Ponnan Nadaar (73), Vithura native Ratnakumar (66), Vallakkadavu native Glory (74), Kanjiramkulam native Wilfred (56), Parassala native Sudhakaran (62) and Varkala native Ramachandran (42).
