Kerala records highest single-day spike of 4644 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 3781 cases through contact; 2862 recoveries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala recorded 4644 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the media here. Among the new cases, 3781 persons developed the disease through contact including 498 cases without an identified source of infection. 36 persons came from abroad while 229 came from other states.
86 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

As many as 2862 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus in the past 24 hours.

Kollam- 436
Kozhikode- 412
Thrissur- 351
Ernakulam- 351
Palakkad- 349
Alappuzha- 348
Kottayam- 263
Kannur- 222
Pathanamthitta- 221
Kasargod- 191
Wayanad- 95
Idukki- 47

The state also reported 18 COVID deaths on Saturday.
