KASARGOD: M C Kamaruddin MLA, an accused in the Kasargod fashion jewellery investment scam, has been removed from the post of UDF chairman in Kasargod. C T Ahammed Ali is the new chairman. Kamaruddin has expressed willingness to resign from the post earlier. The move is part of UDF’s reorganisation plan which is being done ahead of the local body polls.
Meanwhile, in Pathanamthitta, Congress has taken possession of UDF chairman post which was earlier held by Kerala Congress. Mons Joseph from Joseph faction of Kerala Congress has become the UDF chairman in Kottayam. Joseph faction has received the UDF’s district convenor posts in Idukki, Ernakulam and Pathanamthitta. However, due to difference of opinion between parties the convenor post in Alappuzha and chairman post in Palakkad is left vacant.
