Youth commits suicide after being scolded for late night phone calls

PERUVA: A 28-year-old youth committed suicide after his parents scolded him for late night phone calls. The youth has been identified as Likhil Joseph, son of Joseph and Laisa of Peruva.

Likhil was found talking on the phone Tuesday early morning at 2 am. His father woke up hearing a noise and then found his son talking on the phone. He grabbed the phone from his hand and scolded him. In a fit of rage, he walked out of the house.

He was found burned near the timber mill and Peruva Narasimha Swamy temple at 5 am. Though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The body is kept at the mortuary of the Kottayam Medical College. His funeral will be held at the St Joseph’s Kananaya Catholic Church at Aranoottimangalam this evening. Jinchu Joseph and Linu Joseph are his siblings.
