COVID: Kerala reports 8253 positive cases on Saturday; 7084 cases through contact, 25 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 8253 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Health Minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 7084 persons developed the disease through contact including 939 cases without an identified source of infection. 67 health workers tested positive for the virus today.

Meanwhile, 6468 patients tested negative for the virus on Saturday.

The state recorded 25 COVID deaths on Saturday with the toll rising to 1306.

Thiruvananthapuram- 909
Kozhikode- 770
Kollam- 737
Malappuram- 719
Alappuzha- 706
Kottayam- 458
Palakkad- 457
Kannur- 430
Pathanamthitta- 331
Idukki- 201
Kasargod- 200
Wayanad- 79

As many as 67,593 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 624 hotspots in the state with the addition of 16 regions and the removal of 8.
