Kerala reports 5378 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 4670 cases through contact; 27 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5378 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among this, 4670 persons developed the disease through contact including 582 cases without an identified source of infection. 76 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 50 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 5970 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 27 COVID deaths on Thursday with the toll rising to 2148.

In the last 24 hours, 55,996 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.60.

With the addition of 5 new regions today and the removal of 6, there are 545 hotspots in the state.
