Number of pilgrims could be increased in Sabarimala, says Devaswom Board; govt to take final decision on Monday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Board president N Vasu has said that the number of pilgrims in Sabarimala could be increased to an extent. Only a negligible hike could be expected in the pilgrims’ intake. However, the final number of pilgrims should be decided by the government. A final decision on this issue will be taken only on Monday.

On Friday, 37 persons were tested positive for covid 19, in the tests conducted at Nilackkal. 13,529 pilgrims have visited the shrine so far. So far nine government staff in Sabarimala has tested positive for Covid 19. But there is nothing to worry, Devaswom Board president said.
