Yesudas sings from America, live telecast in Mookambika: Legendary singer's 81st birthday offering for almighty

KASARAGOD: The devotional concert of 'Ganagandharvan' Yesudas, who had been singing in front of Kollur Mookambika on his birthday for forty-eight years, was held this time as well on the day of his 81st birthday. Unusually, the hymn he sang in his prayer room in America was telecast live in Mookambika temple.

His 81st birthday celebration was a different experience for the fans and Mookambika devotees who hear the song live every year.

The legendary singer sang a hymn beginning with 'Sri Saraswati Namastuthe ..' in a prayer room in Dallas. Although the programs done by Yesudas for 48 years couldn't be held due to the Covid situation, poojas including Chandika Homa was carried out. The offerings were done by Govinda Adiga. Yesudas' close friend and musician, Dr CM Radhakrishnan in Ernakulam led the concert in Kanhangad in which musicians, students and fans from different parts of the state participated from morning till evening.
