COVID-19: Kerala reports 3361 new cases on Monday; 2969 cases through contact, 17 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 3361 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 2969 persons developed the disease through contact including 276 cases without an identified source of infection. 73 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 43 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.

One UK returnee developed the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, 70 UK returnees have tested positive for the virus.

5606 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 70,624 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 17 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 3624.

In the last 24 hours, 30,903 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 10.88.

With the addition of 1 new region, there are 408 hotspots in the state.
