THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The high court has ordered to file a case against a woman who had lodged a false complaint that she was sexually abused by a health inspector while she was in the quarantine. The order of the high court was based on the affidavit given by the DGP in the high court that the complaint of the Vellarada resident of Thiruvananthapuram was false. According to the report, the woman and the health inspector had consensual sex. The High Court observed that the complaint of the woman had demoralized the health workers.
It was alleged that the young woman, who was in the quarantine, was called home to give her a Covid negative certificate, after which she was tied up and sexually abused. Following this, the health department had sacked Pradeep Kumar, a junior health inspector at the Kulathupuzha community health center in Kollam. The High Court had granted bail on the basis of the complainant's affidavit that it was not sexual abuse but consensual sex. He was released on bail after 77 days in custody.
The court had directed the DGP to conduct a police inquiry into the woman's affidavit.
