COVID-19: Kerala reports 2616 new cases on Thursday; 14 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 2616 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 2339 persons developed the disease through contact including 181 cases without an identified source of infection. 76 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 20 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

4156 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 44,441 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 14 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 4255.

In the last 24 hours, 63,041 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 4.15.

With the removal of 1 region, there are 358 hotspots in the state.
