NEW DELHI: With several state governments making RT-PCR test results mandatory for those coming into the states, several people including Keralites are finding it difficult to return to their respective states. Most states require a test result done within 48 to 72 hours before departure. However, in most states, RT-PCR test results are delayed by 36 to 48 hours due to heavy rush. Due to this, train passengers or those who have to board two planes are not able to travel.

People coming from Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh are required to produce the RT-PCR test results done within 72 hours. In some states, it is 48 hours. The Gujarat High Court had recently pointed out that people are made to wait up to five days for the test results.
