Incident of torching Shiju Varghese’s car; Thiruvananthapuram native arrested

KOLLAM: One has been arrested in connection with the case of torching EMCC director Shiju Varghese’s car in the voting day. The arrested person is a native of Thiruvananthapuram and he belongs to a band of gundas who provided security cover to a woman who caught up in controversies recently in the state.

The latest information states that a four-member gang was behind the torching of Shiju Varghese’s car. The incident for the case held in the morning at 5.30 am on the voting day. Sources indicate that Shiju Varghese is also involved in the incident. The incident has stirred off another controversy on the voting day. Fisheries minister J Mercykutty Amma has also alleged that the incident was part of a controversy to sabotage the votes to be received to the left front.
