Somebody, please inform Prime Minister, Parliament building should not be built in triangular shape, says Vastu expert

vista-project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the new parliament building last Thursday. The project aims at completing the construction of the new parliament building by 2022, the 75th year of independence. Under the central vista project, the new parliament building is designed in a triangular shape. Its construction is being taken up by Tata projects limited. But, famous Vastu expert Dr Manoj S Nair says that the new parliament building is not designed as per the rules of Vastushastra.

“According to the rules of Indian Vastu Shastra, a building should never be constructed in a triangular shape. The current plan of the new building is an awkward one with many sides and a dubious design. I appeal to the Prime Minister to redesign the entire plan according to the traditional rules of Vastu Shastra, and then start the project,” he said.

He also added that even though he had sent multiple e-mails to the PM's office, he had not received any replies as of now. Manoj S Nair who had his doctorate on Vastushastra has also translated the oldest written work in the field--Mayamata. He is also the Stanapathi of many temples in Kerala.

This is what Manoj said:

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the new parliament building yesterday. It was indeed a delightful event. But I was pained to see the design of the new building because it is not based on the traditional viewpoint of Indian architecture. The administrative headquarters of this country should be based on our traditional Vastu Shastra. The new building is in a triangular shape. According to the traditional rules of Vastu Shastra, a building should never be constructed in a triangular shape. As per Vastu Shastra, a building could only be constructed based on its direction. Each room should be based on the eight directions.

I don’t think the new plan is based on directions. In addition to that, the building is in a triangular shape with multiple sides. This should have been avoided. I appeal to the Prime Minister to redesign the entire plan according to the traditional rules of Vastu Shastra and then start the project.

All our important temples and palaces were designed and constructed as per the traditional norms of Vastu Shastra. Whenever it was ignored, unfortunate incidents had happened in the country.
