'I was the first to demand a generational change in the party'; VD Satheesan explains why he has been silent for so long

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: VD Satheesan said that Congress has a second-tier beyond the group and their voice will be raised. He was speaking on Kaumudi TV's 'Straight Line' before being elected Leader of the Opposition. "The Congress party will be badly affected by the civil unrest of the younger generation. That is why we are remaining silent," he said. He also said that he did not want to do any harm to Congress to gain the key position.

"The present generation is not getting the opportunities that veteran leaders got in their youth. I was the first to demand a generational change in the party. This was strongly demanded even after the 2016 elections," Satheesan said.
