Thiruvananthapuram Corporation councillor dies of Covid-19

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Councillor of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation's Vettukadu ward, Sabu Jose (52), of TC33 Sindhi Bhavan in Kochuveli died of Covid-19. He was diagnosed with Covid three weeks ago and was being treated at medical college hospital. He was a CPM councilor and a theatre activist. He has also served as Kochuveli Parish Secretary, Thiruvananthapuram Social Service Society Secretary, St. Joseph Library Vice President, St. Joseph Club President and Cherupushpam Mission League Diocese Secretary.

Sabu Jose, a graduate, is unmarried. His father is Stephen D'Silva. Mother: Janet. Siblings: Bosco DeSilva (former councillor of Vettukadu ward), Keny DeSilva, Sindhi and Benny. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church, Kochuveli, as per the Covid protocol. Ministers V Sivankutty, Antony Raju, Kadakampally Surendran MLA, Mayor Aryarajendran and Deputy Mayor PK Raju offered condolences on the death.
