Kerala records 22,129 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, TPR at 12.35; 156 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 22,129 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 20,914 persons developed the disease through contact, including 975 cases without an identified source of infection. 124 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 116 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

13,415 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,45,371 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 156 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 16,326.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Malappuram 4037, Thrissur 2623, Kozhikode 2397, Ernakulam 2352, Palakkad 2115, Kollam 1914, Kottayam 1136, Thiruvananthapuram 1100, Kannur 1072, Alappuzha 1064, Kasargod 813, Wayanad 583, Pathanamthitta 523, Idukki 400.

1,79,130 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 12.35.
