Woman gang-raped in Kozhikode; two arrested, police intensify search for co-accused

KOZHIKODE: A 32-year-old woman from Kollam was gang-raped by four men in Chevayoor. The incident took place last night. Police have arrested two accused in the case. Those arrested have been identified as Ajnas and Fahad.

According to the police, one of the accused had met the woman through Tiktok. Following this, he pretended to be in love with her and called her to Kozhikode. When the woman reached Kozhikode, Ajnas, Fahad and two others took her to a private hotel and sexually assaulted her by giving her alcohol and drugs.

The woman became unconscious when she was sexually assaulted at the terrace of the building. Following this, the accused rushed her to the hospital and fled from the scene. It was the hospital authorities that informed the police about the torture. Ajnas and Fahad, both from Atholi, were arrested during a subsequent police search. They were arrested while trying to escape in a car. The victim regained consciousness. The police have recorded her statement.
