THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has again announced relaxation in Covid restrictions in the state. The Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) for strict curbs in localities has been increased from seven to eight. The decision was taken at the Covid review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Restrictions in each region are currently determined by population ratio. As per current stituation, in areas with a population of 1,000, curbs are imposed if there are seven cases of Covid infection. But now the government has decided to change it to eight.
With this, more areas will be excluded from the containment zone. Meanwhile, it is learned that a decision on granting more concessions in the state will be taken next week.
