Four CPM board members arrested in Karuvannur bank fraud case

THRISSUR: The crime branch arrested four board members in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank fraud case. The four including former president of the bank K Divakaran have been arrested. The others arrested are Baiju T S, Jose Chakrampilly and Lalithan V K.

All the four arrested are CPM local leaders. This is the first time board members are being arrested. Meantime, the Kerala High Court will consider today the plea seeking to hand over the case to the CBI. The government had filed an affidavit opposing CBI probe.

12 board members have been arraigned in the case. Five have been arrested earlier in the case.
