Suicide of Plus Two student: Ambulance driver arrested

KILIMANOOR: An ambulance driver was arrested on Friday in connection with the suicide of a 17-year-old girl. The arrested has been identified as Kilimanoor native Jishnu S Nair. In addition to abetment of suicide, he has been charged under the POCSO act.

Alfiya, daughter of Shahjahan and Sabina Beevi, died on September 30 while undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital. She consumed poison on September 26. She had recorded a video of her consuming the poison and sent it to Jishnu. However, neither Alfiya nor Jishnu informed anyone about it. As her health condition worsened, she was taken to various hospitals. Following Alfiya's death, Shahjahan lodged a complaint with the police. Jishnu was nabbed during an investigation conducted by the Kilimanoor police.
