Writer Palakkeezhu Narayanan passes away

PERINTHALMANNA: Renowned writer and teacher Prof Palakkeezhu Narayanan (81) passed away on Friday due to old-age related ailments. He had received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Outstanding Contribution in February this year. He was a teacher at Perinthalmanna PTM Government College.

Some of his important works are 'VT Oru Ithihasam', 'Karl Marx', 'Muthashikk Aranoottandu', 'Ormmayum Kazhchayum'and 'Granthalokathinte Mukhakkurippukal.' Narayanan had won several awards including PN Panicker Award and the IV Das Award.

Narayanan was born in 1940 in Chemmaniyode, Malappuram to Palakkeezhu Narayanan Namboothiri and Nangeli Antharjanam. Rita. His wife is PM Savithri, a retired teacher and a member of the Malabar Devaswom Board.
